Reservoir of Opportunity

There's a lot of talk at the moment of the recession and what that will mean for small businesses. 

I'm a small business owner, just like you, and I want to share a bit of George Swift’s insight that really helped me get this into perspective.  

I want you to imagine that your opportunity pool – your client base – is a big reservoir. And at the moment, as a small business, all you have is a little teaspoonful of that reservoir.  

As we head into recession, that reservoir will shrink. Perhaps 20-30% of that opportunity is going to decline. Is it possible for you to still hold on to your little teaspoonful of client base?  

Is it possible for you to expand that teaspoonful into a tablespoonful during this period?  

I think it is.  

It may mean adapting. We need to think about the market and think about our messaging, our social proof and what we're taking to market.  

We also need to think about our client base and the pain that they're feeling right now.  

Just remember that your mindset and your attitude are what dictate your actions, and your actions are what are going to get you the results.
