One of the things I'm hearing a lot at the moment is that business owners are struggling to get their clients to commit - you know, someone on the dotted line makes that decision to actually move forward with their services.
Now, the reason for that, I believe, is the huge amount of uncertainty that we have been living in and still continue to live in. What people are waiting for is a definitive answer, a clear strategy on what the next steps are going to be.
And if I've learned anything over the last 15 months, it's we're going to be waiting for a really long time. Literally, the decisions are flip-flopping from one day to the next.
So trying to anchor your business, your decision making on other people's decision making right now - forget it. It's not going to work.
And whilst we can get really frustrated with other people not committing, I think it's a real opportunity here to take a look at ourselves, because what I hear is business owners saying other people aren't committing followed by them not committing to whatever it is they need to commit to.
When we're seeing patterns externally, I think it's a really good opportunity for us to reflect…

Where are we also waiting for these definitive blooming answers that aren't coming?
What is it that we are waiting for?
What is it that we want to happen in order for us to move forward?
Because the worst thing, I think, is no decision at all. You know, that place of indecision where nothing happens, nothing moves forward.
