[Episode 277] – Weaving A Black Thread – Podcast

The story goes, there was a rug-making business in Japan that made the finest silk rugs imaginable. Before completing each rug, the weaver would weave a single black thread into the rug. Invisible to the naked eye, it served as a humble reminder that perfection, never exists.

In this episode I explore when those perfectionist tendencies might serve you, but also where they might hinder your progress. Is trying to squeeze one percent more out of your product, service, marketing campaign or anything else for that matter, really worth it? Can a perfectionist ever accept that good enough, is good enough? Or are they destined for a life where everything is a disappointment – a relentless battle with the unattainable?
