The Two Paths

There are two paths on the journey of success - the inner path and the outer path - and you have to walk both of them in order to achieve greatness, in order to achieve the success that you want in your business.  

As Success Groups across the board, whether we're working with start-up businesses or whether we're working with those businesses doing well over 100,000 in turnover, we encourage everybody to walk both of these paths. And the content that I share across the whole of Success Groups is focused on the outer journey and the inner journey.  

We have to make sure we're constantly doing our own personal development, that we're removing our own personal limitations, we're getting rid of our own demons that would prevent us from being able to continue the external journey, whilst continually navigating the external journey.  

The external journey in business might be getting sales, marketing, hiring people, getting staff to be inspired and bought in to your vision, onboarding clients, profit margins, your turnover, your revenue, your position in the marketplace…  

All of these things are external challenges that you need to overcome in order to move your business forward and get your business where you want to be. Lots and lots of external challenges, no question.  

However, if we neglect the internal journey, what happens is, very quickly we become the limiting factor in our ability to create a successful business. We want to make sure that we're ahead of the game. Any limitation I might feel around my worthiness, my abilities, any confidence issues I might have about my pricing - all these sorts of things are only getting in the way and hampering your ability to tackle the external challenges that are always going to be present when you undergo the challenge, the pilgrimage, the adventure of running a business, launching a business, growing a business, scaling that business.  

So you have to make sure you're continually walking both of these. At Success Groups, as I say, we do the heavy lifting for you, because we bring content around the inner and the outer journeys. In our Masterminds, people bring whatever it is that they need answers to, and sometimes it's internal, sometimes it's external. In terms of the content we provide, and there's a lot of content we provide for our members, I make sure that there is a healthy balance.  

In fact, just today, I ran a session for our members and it was heavily orientated on the inner path. The next one, it could be really heavily focused on the outer path - sales, or position in the marketplace, pricing, stuff like that. If you want to be a successful business owner, a successful entrepreneur, you have to walk both of these paths, right? Both of them have their challenges, both of them offer their own rewards, but fundamentally, if you walk them both consistently, you will get wherever it is that you are going.
