Referrals are awesome

Referrals are awesome.  

For a small business, they’re the number one best strategy for bringing people in and getting really solid conversions.  

Truth is, if you aren't generating leads through referrals, you need to focus on that strategy first to see if it’s viable for you. 

The reason referrals are so good is because a lot of the convincing has already been done by the person that's referring.  

Your conversion rate is going to be much higher than with a cold lead.  

How can you optimize that strategy?  

If you have people already referring, think about thanking the people that refer. It surprises me how many people don't!  

Some people do respond really well to monetary gains, despite what you might hear, so think about how you might reward referrals.   

Most people respond well to a thank you gift - maybe flowers or a bottle of wine.  

The main thing is communication. You want to make sure that you keep communication channels open, that you’re constantly in contact with the people that are referring to you, that you make referring as simple as possible for them.  

Are there ways in which you could make referring easier? 

Are there videos or content that you could create for you referrer?  

The key thing when you’re looking at lead generation strategies is not to spread yourself too thinly.  Always look at one, maybe two things that are working really well for you and double down on those before you start anything else.
