Founder, Big Fish Training
Big Fish Training is a specialist in public relations training for PR Agencies, integrated marketing agencies and in-house communications teams.
Training is across the board from career development, people skills, personal development and industry specific training using highly skilled trainers including Emma Ewing, the founder, and ex journalists.
The biggest challenge for Emma was finding the balance between working on and in the business. Emma started her business because she loved training and helping people to learn but admin, sales and all the other elements of running a business that need nurturing were pulling her away from what she was great and passionate about.
“The problem is I had always viewed the other parts of business as a necessary evil. I hadn’t found a way to motivate myself to enjoy that side of running a business.”
Looking at the way other people work and helping them to move forward through her training meant Emma is great at taking her own medicine. After a bit of soul searching she realised with some clarity that she needed to focus on planning and goal setting.
“I encountered BBB and liked George’s grown up but playful approach. As soon as I attended my first workshop I knew it was the right environment for me. It was a no brainer to join the success group.”
Feeling inspired by others in the room and learning from other’s successes means Emma now has the mindset to ‘show up’.
Having joined in November she took the decision to not accept that January was a flat month for training and ensured that January was the best January since being in business. “Every month since joining I’ve had my best month yet! We’ve doubled net profit year on year so far.”
Emma now finds the business side inspiring and is interested in the challenges.
“EVERY MONTH SINCE JOINING I’VE HAD MY BEST MONTH YET! WE’VE DOUBLED NET PROFIT YEAR ON YEAR SO FAR.”
“I’ve never worked so hard as I have in this last year but I’m now interested in the new challenges. Rather than thinking it’s yet another thing to add to my to do list, I find it exciting and work hard towards achieving it. That’s a real change in mindset which has been a real break through for me and the business and is thanks to success groups.
The goal setting, the inspiring people in the room and the authenticity of George and what he brings to the room each session.”
