Are you stuck right now? If you are, you need to know that you are not alone.  

I'm seeing a lot of ‘stuckness’ at the moment and the trouble with ‘stuckness’ is it creates a chain reaction.  

Some people are stuck with the narrative that's going on in their head - the fears and doubts, the impending doom.  

Others are stuck with the sales process, generating leads, bringing people in, getting seen, but also getting customers over the line - getting them to actually commit and move forward.  

When we feel stuck, it starts to create frustration and chips away at our confidence. It really taps into our deep-rooted fears and doubts. We start to feel like a bit of an imposter - maybe we don't really know what we're doing on this business journey… 

None of us do!  

We're all trying to work it out and it’s easy to get caught in a cycle of procrastination and fear. 

The longer you stay in that space, the worse it gets, so we want to get you out of that space as quickly as possible.  

So here’s the basics of the process that I go through when I'm stuck.  

#1 - Know that you’re not alone. It may look like everyone else is doing brilliantly and you’re the only person that's stuck.  

That is not true.  

#2 - Write down the problem. Really allow yourself to get everything down. It doesn't matter what you write, no one's going to read it. But the act of writing puts perspective on the problem. Also, your brain is going at a rate of knots and writing will slow the brain down. You can only write so fast 

As you’re writing, you’re going to feel emotions coming up. You'll feel fear and doubt and all that stuff.  

Allow these emotions. Don’t try to avoid feeling these emotions through alcohol, distraction, busyness, or whatever.  

Sit and feel them. Allow them to come up and pass. That stuckness and those emotions shut your brain down. And we want our creative brain as open as possible in order to creatively problem solve.  

Once you've done that, put your problem to one side.  

#3 - Get a clear vision of what it is that you actually want. Be specific. But no caveats or negatives. You can't say, “I want this, but without that,” and you can't say, “I don't want this.” No negatives.  

Write it down. Once you've got it succinct, stand up and announce loudly to the universe what it is that you actually want. (If you're into ‘woo-woo’ you'll understand that we're cosmically ordering. If you’re not, it doesn't matter - this stuff works anyway.)  

Once you've done all that, ask the question, how do I move forward? What’s one thing I could do towards this vision?  The answers may not come immediately - be prepared to be patient.  

If you can't work out what to do next, think about who’s had this problem before and overcome it. Who might be able to help you move forward?  

The key thing is to stop focusing on the problem. What we focus on grows, we've all heard that. It's a bit of a throwaway comment but it's absolutely true.  

Focus on the solution and start moving forward.
