Summary

Video is going to be the way forward for most businesses and if you’re not out there on video, then you’re missing a huge opportunity to market what you do.

What I find with people is the reason that they’re not putting themselves out there in video, is normally that mindset block around putting their face out there, their voice out there, people seeing them, people hearing them.

Interestingly however the world is already seen you for who you are, they’re already listening to what you’re saying, all we’re doing here is putting it on film or capturing it on our phones or iPads, and we’re putting it out there on social media.

Here I am at a success group with a very deserted room, because I have send the team out there to shoot their own video’s, their own video blogs.

Video is going to be the way forward for most businesses and if you’re not out there on video, then you’re missing a huge opportunity to market what you do.

So, what I’ve given these guys here to do is a really simple structure to give them confidence around having something to say, and I want to share that with you right now.

Number one is this, come up with a compelling title around what it is that you are about to say or give to your potential audience. It needs to be compelling in the sense of exciting that they want to watch and listen to what you’re saying, but also telling them what you’re going to tell them. Then you take that core message, break it down into three sub points and literally just talk your way through those three points.

This video could be as short as thirty seconds or it could be as long as three minutes, you might even go further than that. Lots of people will tell you different things. For me it’s a case of finding your audience, keep putting the stuff out there, monitoring what people are liking, what people are watching and then just keep on adjusting. But I promise you, you have stuff to say about your business. There’s things out there that your audience wants to hear.

Quite often what we do is we think we have to say something that is earth shattering, we think we have to say something that’s going to revolutionises the way the whole world sees our particular industry.  It doesn’t have to be like that.  Every time someone asks you a question about your product or your business or what you do, that is potential content for you to put out there. Start keeping a note of all the things that you have to say and offer the world and then when you feel in the right mindset, be confident and get your message out there.

The truth is initially very few people are going to see this, so stop worrying so much about what people are going to think, just keep broadcasting, keep putting it out, keep putting it out and what will happen is you will gain confidence, also your audience will start to gain as you’ll start to position yourself in a way that you want to position yourself in your market place.

So, get video out there. Stop using technology as a block, realise that you have something to offer, people want to hear it and put it together in a nice structured way that gives you confidence that you have something to say and then just say it, and then put it out there and almost forget about it. Don’t dwell on it, don’t sit and worry about what people are thinking, go straight on to the next one, put the next one out there, and the next one and the next one. Video is a way forward for your business almost certainly.

Until next time, be successful.
