So often you’re going to hear people saying to you that it’s your decisions that craft your life or shape your life. It’s your decisions that create the success and or failure that you might experience. I’m here to tell you it’s less about your decision and it’s more about something else.

Decision making is important, the decision-making process is really important and yes first of all we must decide what we want to do. However you can make a decision in a second. Most decisions are manipulated by how we feel. We feel good about something or bad about something and we choose or decide not to do something or to do something.

However, I’m telling you now, your life, your future, your destiny everything is less orchestrated by the decisions or choices you make in life and much more about what you commit to. You can make a decision in a second but you need to then back that decision with huge amounts of commitment. Think about your career, your relationships, your health; you might make a decision in a second to be a millionaire or have a big business or to go for promotion or to get the six pack. However, it may take months or even years of real disciplined commitment in order to achieve on that decision, or to achieve on that decision.

Of course making decisions is really important, of course making choices is really important otherwise we just stand still. We procrastinate in everything else however I’m telling you right now your future is less convened by those choices, because we make choices all day long and make decisions all day long but we don’t back them, we don’t commit behind them, it’s that that’s going to shape your destiny, it’s that that’s going to shape your life.

You’ve got in your life right now what you committed to achieve. Maybe half the stuff in your life is completely accidental, you didn’t actually choose everything else, I get that, that’s a blog for another time completely. However when you look at what you’ve got out of life,  it wasn’t a decision that changed your life, it was backing that decision with the commitment over the weeks, months or even years that enabled you to deliver on that decision.

So yes, make decisions but before you make the decision ask yourself a really simple question, am I ready, am I willing to back that decision. I can decide to be a billionaire, I could decide to run a marathon, I can decide to climb Everest. I can decide that right now because it feels good to me, it might feel right to me, however it might take many years of disciplined commitment in order to achieve on that, that’s what I need to be ready to do.

When you make a decision, don’t make it with how you feel as much as make it in regards to are you ready and are you willing and are you able to really be disciplined and really commit to continually taking the action that’s needed in order to deliver upon that decision that maybe you made in a second.

Until next time, be successful.
